Derek Bell – in car

An early eighties lap of Le Mans including the pre-chicanes, 245mph+ blast down the infamous, 3 mile long Mulsanne Straight.

Ok, so the footage is not up to current HD standards, but this is what it was like driving at Le Mans at 245mph in the old days. The iconic Porsche 956 is being driven here by my 1994 Le Mans co-pilot Derek Bell MBE. After leading the 94’ start, we had a few problems but still managed to come an impressive 6th overall, 3rd in class and 1st privateer home against the might of the works factory teams.
