The motorsport world sadly lost three of its family within days of each other this month. Murray Walker, Sabine Schmitz and Johnny Dumfries.
As a commentator, Murray was the voice of Formula 1 between 1976 and 2001. Appointed the OBE in 1996 he is simply irreplaceable. Murray Walker: 10 October 1923 -13 March 2021. Top Gear presenter and twice winner of the 24 Hours there, Sabine was known as the ‘Queen of the Nurburgring’. Sabine Schmitz: 14 May 1969-16 March 2021. Johnny drove in Formula 1 partnering Ayrton Senna at Lotus in 1986. He then went on to win the 1988 Le Mans 24 Hours for Jaguar. John Colum Crichton-Stuart, 7th Marquess of Bute: 26 April 1958-22 March 2021. Our heart goes out to all their families and friends.
